Eugenio Javier Hernández Flores is governor number 219 in the political history of Tamaulipas. Born in the city of Tamaulipas on October 17, 1959. He graduated as Civil Engineer from ITESM and is still an active member of the Patron Confederation of Mexico (COPARMEX) and the Rotary Club. He has been repeatedly named Businessman of the Year by the National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO). He was President of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) and President of the Municipal Potable Water Commission (COMAPA) twice. In 1999 he was named state coordinator for the campaign committee for Francisco Labastida Ochoa as the PRI candidate for national president. He was Federal Deputy for the fifth District of Tamaulipas and in 2001 he was elected Major of Ciudad Victoria, where he became known for his profoundly social and humane actions. In 2004 he was named President of the National Federation of Northern Mexican Municipalities and then Governor of the State of Tamaulipas for the term 2005-2011. With clear proposals and commitments, he plans to lead this great State towards a new phase of prosperity and wellbeing. Alongside the citizens, his purpose is to conduct a government with good results, sensible of its people and a vision of the future.
