Politics of Puebla

The State of Puebla is known for its natural resources, archeological sites, historic buildings and cuisine but also for its industrial leadership, qualified work force and the innovative attitude of its businessmen. Puebla is a leader in the Mesoamerica Project for its ideal geographic location that turns it into the gate for Central and South America, as well as the mid-point between North and South America. With an ideal climate (20º C average annual weather), Puebla offers investors, in addition to a high quality of life, a highly qualified work force, supported on the 57 Technology Institutes and more than 110 Universities that make Puebla the second University and Technology Center of Mexico, with a base of over 118 thousand students. It holds 83 Research and Development Centers and 70% of the personnel related to microsystems in Mexico have studied at Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE). The productive sectors par excellence of Puebla are automobiles (mainly the VW plant of Mexico), textiles with high levels of international exports, agriculture and arts and crafts, granting a great identity to Mexico on many levels. The automobile sector, one of the most thriving industries of Puebla, will develop the Client-Supplier Encounters with the companies of automobiles and appliances, (with Denso Mexico, Arvin Meritor, Mabe, Leoni, Hyundai-Kia Motors and Forteq), with business meetings with the supplying companies of Puebla and there is a permanent contact with the Association for Manufacturing Technology, representing nearly 400 metal-mechanic machinery producers, offering financial credit, advise and business opportunities. Puebla has a vast directory of reserves, areas and industrial parks, adding up to 14 industrial complexes; some as property of the State Government and others belonging to the municipalities and private sectors.
