Located on the northeast coast of the Mexican State of Sonora, this attractive port has a 110 kilometer-long coast along Cortes Sea. Of dry warm climate, it registers an average annual temperature of 80º F with rainfall during the winter. Uninhabited until 1927 when fishers of other Sonora ports started to arrive for practicing weakfish fishing, a fish of great size and very valued in the northern United States for its medical properties.
