The society of Yucatan is full of traditions that modern times have not transformed. In the radiantly clean Ciudad Blanca, each Thursday at 21.00 hrs you can enjoy the romantic Yucatan Serenades at the poetic Santa Lucia Park, during which the Orchestra of Yucaltepen performs melodies of Yucatan authorship, spontaneous poets recite their verses to the wind and the public ends up dancing to the rhythm of the "“Vaquería Regional"”.

Additionally, every Sunday is Market Sunday. Around the Central Plaza and in the city's main parks, "“Merida on a Sunday"” is celebrated, a cultural festival with dances, theater, gastronomy and crafts from Yucatan.

Also, the numerous museums in the city offer permanent and temporary exhibits on the history of the Mexican peninsula from prehistory to our era and have a great archive of Mexican and international art. The museums you will find in Merida are: Museo de Antropología e Historia "Palacio Cantón", Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Ateneo de Yucatán (MACAY), Museo de la Canción Yucateca, Museo de la Ciudad de Mérida, Museo de Historia Natural, Museo Numismático de México A.C, Museo de Arte Popular and Pinacoteca del Estado "Juan Gamboa Guzmán".

XLACAH
The mysterious cenotes along the Pensinsula of Yucatan take crystalline subterranean water to towns and cities. Only 22 kilometers from Merida, the archeological zone of Dzibilchatlun is on the cenote called Xcalah. In it, pure and crystalline water is ideal for swimming, diving and being in touch with our most elevated conscience or simply refresh a little. Its depths are also home to sailfish.

PUERTO PROGRESO BEACH
Only 20 minutes away from the city is this beautiful port with white beaches hosting bars and restaurants where you can relax with the spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea.
