C.P. Emilio Gonzalez Marquez was born on November 12, 1960 in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco. He graduated as Public Accountant at Facultad de Contaduría Públia of University of Guadalajara and has a Master’s Degree on Organizational and Human Development from Uniersidad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA).

He was elected president of the State Directive Committe for Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) in Jalisco from 1999 to 2002. He was also Councillor for the first PAN Administration in the history of Guadalajara and Federal Deputy for this city.

On January 1, 2004 he became Municipal President of the State capital. He is Constitutional Governor for the State of Jalisco since March 1, 2007 to conclude his term in 2013.
