The state government web page offers online services to the general public. The State Employment Service posts weekly reports on job vacancies in each one of the cities throughout the state, with information on the age, sex, schooling, years of experience requirements and informs the salary offered.

Violence against women has become a key issue in the state. Due to an increase in violent deaths to women by their partners or close male relatives, a group of NGO’s have united efforts to ask the state congress to pass a law to offer and ensure the Guanajuato women a life free of violence. The Centro de Derechos Humanos Victoria Diez, the Academia Mexicana de los Derechos Humanos y el Instituto Estatal de la Mujer de Guanajuato are some of the organizations that are taking part in the effort.
