Want to visit Ensenada?
This city located in the Baja California península is linked to the rest of the country by Federal Highway 3 which connects it to the city of Tecate and other towns such as Francisco Zarco and San Antonio de las Minas. You can also reach Ensenada traveling on Federal Highway 5, specifically through a junction of the town called Chinero. It’s interesting that even though the journey can take between 44 to 50 hours, yet there are buses that depart from the North Terminal to Ensenada, with approximately five daily runs between the various lines that provide the service. However, it is important to note that most of these buses are second-class foreign buses. Some other cities that have buses that depart from, as well as come to Ensenada, are Celaya, Culiacán, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Irapuato, Los Mochis, Mazatlán, Nogales, Querétaro, Salamanca and Tepic.
Planes are still a means of transportation that could be considered, at least in this area, something of the future, since there is no airport in the zone, so the closest one would be the Tijuana Airport. If you arrive to Tijuana, but plan to travel to Ensenada, there are several bus lines that will take you to Ensenada and whose prices are decent. They have departures almost every hour, but there are also taxi cabs that provide transportation as well.
The Port of Ensenada is another way of communication since there are seasonal tourist transports that can take you to La Paz, Mazatlán, Acapulco and Lázaro Cárdenas. It is important to note that Ensenada will be, in the near future, one of the cities with more tourist flow as there is being built a train connection with the United States, and an International Airport with several runways.
