Diving in Mexico
Diving, in particular, is an activity that allows a different sensitive experience. On the one hand, there is a very close contact with an infinite number of submarine landscapes whose colors, textures and dimensions are unique due to the effects produced by light and water. On the other hand, the feeling of being suspended provides a sense of freedom, since although movements are slow, they are soft and rhythmic, giving the body a feeling of pleasure and relaxation.
Generally, diving is a group sport, since it involves learning through experience. Therefore, those who access this activity initially do so supervised by other persons and later adventure to seek their own spaces. Diving offers the freedom to access known and popular submarine spaces as well as other more private ones that can be discovered individually.
In our country, recognized as recommended places to dive, are the beaches of Veracruz, the Sea of Cortes and Cozumel, among others. The sites offer coral reefs, sacred cenotes and even crystalline waters whose coloring is supplied by the mineral mix of its sand. The choice also depends on the time of the year, since diving is recommended in warm waters free of dangerous sea currents, making it crucial to know the characteristics of the place before visiting it, as well as the requirements of equipment and safety.
Beach destinations offering this excellent recreation alternative are Tulum, Riviera Maya, Puerto Escondido, Los Cabos, La Paz, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Cancun, Acapulco and as places to discover, Veracruz and Michoacán.
It is important to choose the place, since temperature, the presence of submarine currents, solid materials and minerals will create different effects in the submarine media.
In México, autonomous diving, which means, styles such as apnea (without equipment), diving with devices, or non-autonomous diving, which includes a connection with the surface, are practiced.
